Biography
Nory Pascua is a California State Bar Certified Family Law Specialist with over 20 years of experience. She brings extensive family law expertise to the San Diego law enforcement community as well as to a broad range of other clients.
Nory understands the unique needs of her law enforcement clients dealing with family law issues, particularly those defending against a restraining order. This insight comes from her prior experience representing law enforcement officers in internal affairs investigations, officer-involved shooting incidents, death-in-custody matters, and disciplinary actions. Her training and certification through the Force Science Institute further enhance her understanding of the challenges officers face in these situations.
With extensive experience across the full spectrum of family law, Nory has represented a wide range of clients—including business owners, professionals, government employees, and military service members—in matters involving divorce, legal separation, annulment, child custody and visitation, child support, spousal support, arrears, property division, domestic violence restraining orders, paternity, and adoption. Her background includes trial litigation, settlement conferences, and court hearings, and she is skilled in managing complex asset and debt issues as well as every stage of a family law case from initial filing through trial.
Additionally, Nory is adept in handling child custody and visitation matters. Her extensive experience with child custody issues in divorce, paternity, and adoption cases, along with her service as Minor’s Counsel/Guardian ad Litem in high-conflict cases, makes her well-suited to take care of such important and delicate issues.
Committed to providing high-quality legal representation, Nory advocates fiercely for her clients’ best interests. Her dedication and results are reflected in the many positive testimonials she has received from those she has represented.
Her academic path began at San Diego State University. Two years later, she transferred to National University so she could attend college full-time while simultaneously working full-time at the San Diego City Attorney’s Office performing administrative work. She earned her degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Legal Studies, graduating cum laude.
During her time at Thomas Jefferson School of Law, Nory served as President of the Pan Asian Law Students Association and was a member of both the Judicial Committee of the Student Bar Association and the Moot Court team. She also acted as Student Liaison to the Filipino American Lawyers of San Diego, earned the American Jurisprudence and CALI Awards in Legal Analysis and Writing, and published articles in the law school newspaper. Her legal training included a judicial internship at the U.S. Immigration Court in San Diego and an internship with the Office of the Alternate Public Defender.
Her legal career began at a firm where she worked on both criminal and family law matters before opening her own practice devoted primarily to family law. In the more than twenty years since, she has guided a broad and diverse clientele through complex and emotionally charged family law cases. In addition to her family law work, she has handled select matters in criminal, civil, and administrative courts.
In addition to her full-time law practice, Nory has held numerous leadership roles and devoted significant time to community service. She served a three-year term on the Board of Directors of the San Diego County Bar Association, where she co-chaired the Law Student Outreach and Programming Committee and served on the Audit, Membership, Purview, and Membership Benefits Committees. She also acted as Board Liaison to the High School Mock Trial Committee and the Workers’ Compensation Section, represented the South Bay region, and participated in the South Bay Court Beautification Project.
Moreover, Nory served as President of the Filipino American Lawyers of San Diego and was involved with the Pan Asian Lawyers of San Diego and the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association. In addition, for more than a decade, she participated in the statewide Bench-Bar Coalition’s lobbying efforts in support of the judicial branch’s budget and legislative priorities.
Furthermore, Nory was an Adjunct Professor for three years at the California International Business University in San Diego, where she taught business law classes to undergraduate students. Additionally, she is regularly involved in mentorship programs to support students and younger attorneys. She also serves as a Pro Tem Judge at Settlement Conferences in family law cases
